E-hobby G1 Reissue Anime Accurate Bluestreak

E-hobby Bluestreak…Bluestreak fans must get this as this version is the anime accurate.
The rest of the versions are considered Silverstreak. If you want a bigger challenge and have cash to spare, you may want to search for the diaclone black hood blue streak. But its really rare to find one in nice condition…i had to settle for the lesser brother…this e-hobby version.

This reissue came 18 years later in 2002…The mold deterioration can be clearly seen on the face. No longer does the face have distinct and clear lines.

This Nissan Fairlady mold never fails to impress…even though it is a reissue.
When ever i hold it in my hands, the weight and feel is just nice…coupled with the rubber wheels…perfect!

Acquistions amongst a busy month….

Have not posted for a long long time….Been busy with work and newborn daughter…
However, not posting does not mean not looking and not acquiring. Acquiring TFs must not stop, not even when there is no time.

Along the way, got myself a Takara Vintage G1 Prowl, complete, used. Imust say, the vintage autobot cars are a must get! especially the Takara japanese version for the styrofoam where you can properly store the toy.
Together with Prowl, came the Targetmaster Triggerhappy. Bought this for a couple of reasons:
1) My loose piece has both tabs broken on the cannons.
2) We have no time.

FINALLY!!! A G1 vintage Takara Starscream is acquired! Complete unused with the unused sticker sheet. no other papers though….

styrofoam, good old styrofoam...

All my boxed G1 starscream. E-hobby Ghost and black starscream as well as Takara Box reissue are not here…which am i missing?

 Pre-rub Sideswipe. Boxed and 101% complete….but used..

Prowl, Prowl and Prowl

Taking these pictures and writing this makes me feel like a Prowl slut, but i'm not. Really.
Just happen to own these molds.
In fact, i'm already in love with the G1 Prowl/Streak/Smokescreen mold.
Just got a Universe Deluxe Prowl off a reseller. Yes, i do not have CHUG Prowl before this and i'm wondering why it took so long…fortunately, i did not have to pay a really absurd price for this.
Here's the photo of the 3 versions together…in alternate car mode.
The masterpiece as always is an exact replica of its G1 counterpart, sporting a Fairlady Mold.

In bot mode, the masterpiece is just slightly taller than its deluxe cousin,  but with tons of articulation.
The CHUG Prowl, disappoints me in terms of mold and robustness of the toy. Don't really like this version of Prowl. The doors are flimsy, pop out easily during transformation.
The G1 piece shown here is the Takara box reissue. The details on the face shows mold degradation, but as i've said before the mold rocks big time!
Masterpiece designs never fail to disappoint. but the material of construction disappoints me.

Details of the Masterpiece Prowl's head sculpt.
Very clear lines and you can see a fresh mold used. (look at a reassure Prowl/Streak's face and you will know what i am talking about.

I still feel the G1 mold wins the competition with MP Prowl close behind.
The reasons are the die cast, rubber wheels. The MP mold technically is far better, representing anime Prowl in all categories, but as a toy, it lacks the feel of a masterpiece…lacking the metal and rubber.
I always feel that the later pieces of the masterpiece, have not enough or zero die cast.
TakaraTomy, please please please start to put in diecsat and rubber wheels for future masterpieces…

Diaclone Blue Swoop

This is probably the first Swoop mold i ever owned.
One big reason why one should get this: This piece is anime accurate with the blue chest.
Which means if you are a G1 anime die hard, this is the one to get…(along with the canadian red face Slag. Came across this on ebay when i was browsing the diaclones.
Really beginning to fall deeply in love with diaclone molds and pre-rubs.
The molds are really of the highest quality.

There's some stain at the top right corner at the front, otherwise the box is in a very good condition.

Styrofoam insert is in very good condition as well…surprising thing is, there is a diaclone driver included. Checked with a friend and it seems that there should not be a driver for Swoop….so it's like a bonus to have one in there. No harm keeping it right?

Used piece, with applied stickers. Some of stickers actually fell off but figure is in good condition with a little little bit of wear…chromed wings are without chrome wear...

Another though going round in my head…what if this is a K.O?
As soon as i got this on hand, immediately verified all details with a friend who owns an unused piece. Also went to the internet to find out more about KO Swoop.
Fortunately, this is the real deal. I am relieved.

Here, you can see a close up on the wings…nice right?

The next anime accurate Dino would be the Canadian Slag…let's hope i can get lucky once more...

Transformers G1 Prowl reissue.

Prowl here is similar to Bluestreak, which i posted earlier.
Talking about Prowl was sorta a joke.
When the Takara Boxed Series reissued prowl, i bought it straight away.
A couple of years later, i sold it...when i decided to collect the autobot cars, i bought it again, and of coz at a higher price. Call me stupid.
This piece came MISB, i un-MISBed it, but did not put on the stickers, so here you have it....a naked Prowl. Different from the commemorative, the takara boxes comes with chromed weapons and missiles.

Always a nice piece to play with ....

The alternate mode: Datsun 280ZX

Transformers G1 Blitzwing

Got this piece, G1 Blitzwing for some time...finally managed to find a slot to setup and take some pictures of the recent figures and along the way, this fella...
Got it from ebay, it says vintage 1985 G1 Bltizwing...loose and complete with his Gyro-blaster Rifle and Electron Scimitar.
didn't really find out if its a takara boxed reissue or an actual 1985 vintage.
To me, so long as it is complete and playable, nothing broken, its good.

Let's look at Blitzwing now....Very blocky...having some of the worst articulation ever...hahaha
but he's still cool....he's a triple changer!!
thought of getting him after getting the Generations Voyager Blitzwing.
A terror on the battlefield, the G1 toy (given the small size) does not really reflect that. In fact he don't really look decepticon to me...perhaps they should have upsize him (and Astrotrain too!) slightly, into the height of inferno...

One of his alternate mode: Japanese Type-74 assault tank.
Don't know if it's my piece, but the tailfin of the plane mode will fall out (at the bottom of the tank mode) if i lift it up. Only one of the fins is falling out, so i presume its not a factory fault. not a big issue really as you can't really see it when you display blitz in tank mode.

The second alternate mode: Soviet MiG-25 fighter jet.
Frontal and side views look cool...

But its abit odd to have the tank turret sticking out at the back...

Surprise find at CSC! C-99 Grotesque!

This is what got me excited and delighted today.
Was in CSC (China Square Central) for a couple of deals with other collectors...Wife was helping a friend to look for some Ninja turtles figures as cake topper....kiddo was there to look for his Minion Golfer...
As usual, while the wife and kid i walked around the shops, more interested in the shops that are not specialized, selling almost everything under the sky....(The specialised toyshops i feel that they are too close to the market and too opportunistic, not that i don't visit these shops but it it very highly unlikely i'll buy anything from these specialised shops)
So....i went into a shop, caught a glimpse of a Takara Transformers box at a non-prominent shelf high up. I asked to take a look at it....
Box: abit of wear, which is natural for the years that it has survived.
Styrofoam: nice and pristine
Toy: abit dusty but otherwise nice. Fire sparks still work!
Papers: Complete but stickers applied.
Downside is the that some of the stickers on the figure are somewhat peeling off.

There is already a loose piece of a complete Hasbro Grotesque at home...but looking at this, i can't resist a nicely boxed takara piece...then comes the price...it is very well-priced...such that i just took it without thinking...damn! i forgot to bargain!!

The very nice G1 artwork which toys nowadays can never ever match.

The nice nice styrofoam...something vintage fans can't resist. The thing is you can have a nice Hasbro piece but once the bubble is off, it is equivalent to a loose piece because there is no way you can't properly box it back. Things are different with Takara versions...the STYROFOAM.

A 1987 piece that was released with the Headmasters. There are 2 other monsterbots, Doublecross and Repungus (Repungus was never released in Japan, so only Hasbro version)

The loose Hasbro monster along with the Japanese monster....

Always nice to secure a Takara piece...really satisfying and great day for me...oh yes, i managed to secure an Encore Minibots MISB too...a set that i missed and have eluded me for a long time, managed to find it also at a very reasonable price....gosh, what a great day today...the wife got what she came here for...the kiddo found his minion...what a great day!
