Transformers Pre Rub Optimus Prime (Convoy) Finally!

Don't know if i should be ashamed to mention this…being a Transformers fan from the 80s, i've never owned a G1 Optimus Prime until 5 years go where i bought the 25th Anniversary G1 Optimus Prime…then i acquired the Grey and Red Bape Optimus Prime...these were the only G1 Convoys…i have never owned a vintage G1 Prime until now….

This piece, a used complete Pre Rub G1 Optimus Prime was acquired at the same time as the Decepticon Jets…In my view probably the best version of Optimus Prime for a G1 fan.
The box wasn't the best in condition, a fair bit of wear but good enough for me, good enough for a first time vintage prime owner like me….

Styrofoam is in good condition, almost pristine...

Here's the truck mode...

Robot mode…Best representation of the G1 artwork…bloated fists and weapons…Most important of all, the rifle matches the artwork, 1980s cartoon…later versions were released with a different, slimmer rifle. Diecast, rubber wheels and all…how could i missed this for all these years?!!

Yeah, bloated fists...

Another thing which stands out from other later versions…Roller comes in grey color which is similar to what shown on the instructions sheet…Also, a good representation…later Rollers come in blue color as shown on the first picture, the 25th Anniversary version...

Next thing about the trailer, the colored sides are actually metal plates, with the colors and designs printed on…Later versions come with stickers….This will not make a significant difference to most collectors whether the patterns are stickers or metal plates but to me, it is important as this shows that this version is the closest to the Diaclone Convoy, the first use of mold and design for Optimus Prime.
The metal plates serves a purpose for the little diaclone drivers where the magnets on their feet can keep the drivers stable by adhering to the metal plates...

IN all, i'm very happy with this version of Optimus Prime, not only being my first vintage prime but as the best version of Optimus Prime…Again, similar to my Decepticon Jets, this is also an opportunity acquisition…and i was not the one who found this opportunity, a friend led me to this and i can never thank him enough...

Transformers Tokyo Toy Fair 2012 Shining Optimus Prime

Transformers Tokyo Toy Fair 2012 Shining Optimus Prime
This is using the Transformers Prime First Edition Mold of Optimus Prime.
The clear version...something like the crystal convoy. Always had a soft spot for Black and clear pieces, so this is a must get.

Had this piece for awhile already and threw away the box/packaging.

Just didn't like the smoke stacks. Mold is good. Transformation is not too complicated. easily understood.

Don't really like the Transformers Prime series...if not for clear and black and Starscream, i would never get this series of transformers. I predict the TFP series would end up as TFA (Transformers Animated)...if it really ends up like TFA, remember...You read it here first!

Transformers Commemorative Reissue G1 Ultra Magnus differences

Was never a fan of Ultra Magnus, therefore did not bother to get the vintage
When Hasbro, decided to reissue this fella, why not?
It's quite a nice toy, with a white Optimus Prime cab and of coz after the "suit up", Ultra Magnus.
But there are some differences or you can say "Improvements"?
The missiles are way longer than they should be. In fact all 4 missiles provided in the pack are long.

Missiles are different from the pictures on the box. Different from the vintage version.

The smoke stacks are shorter than usual. This makes overall vehicle mode look unnatural. From the box pictures, they should be long smoke stacks.
The shortened smoke stacks should be "improvements" after receiving feedback the they break easily.
I have another piece at hand that belongs to my friend. and the white prime also has shortened stacks, so i don't think it's possible that my piece is the QC reject and a piece that escaped QC.

Then again, my comparisons are all from the reissue toy and pictures as i do not have the vintage piece. There may still be other differences but immediately, these are those that caught my eye...

Transformers United China Exclusive Ultra Magnus

Transformers United China Exclusive Ultra Magnus
Supposedly a China Exclusive...but it really means that this toy is launched in China first...subsequently, the rest of the countries will follow...we have news that Japan will be launching in Feb 2013, so nothing really to harp about...
Probably the fifth recolor of this mold, there are no signs of mold degradation.
A nice technical toy to play with.

Transformers United packaging.

Abit of scratches on the chrome bumper...and some fingerprints...strange?

Custom DOTM Fire Convoy

Transformers Custom DOTM Fire Convoy
Concept is thought of by a friend...then he passed me the Sentinel Prime and the Jetwing Prime head.
He just wanted to have the Jetwing Prime head replacing the Sentinel, but as i was modifying the head, i figured that after painting, the head and the body would look different in color...proceeded to paint the whole bot instead...only the bot, didnt repaint on the vehicle mode.
Repaint as usual is done with enamels, and Mr Color chrome silver...and the figure was given several washes..and here it is...

Awaiting in the shadows of the moon, ready to spring an attack on the decepticons who has conquered Cybertron and Earth...more wisdom than Optimus Prime, more powerful than Ultimate Prme, more agile than Powered Up Prime, more stealth than Jetwing Prime....ARISE DOTM FIRE CONVOY....now, light our darkest hour!!!

The fiercest incarnation of Optimus Prime, DOTM Fire Convoyshows no mercy...also the darkest of all Primes, a lisght shift will see hi, forgo his autobot ethics to convert to Shattered Glass!
