Transformers Dark Guard Optimus Prime

Transformers Dark Guard Optimus Prime.
As per my previous post, am a sucker for clear and black, so here it is, the black version of the Transformers Prime First Edition mold. Similar to the Shining Prime, a repaint this is. Even the packaging is the same.
This mold of Optimus Prime, comes with a sword and a blaster.

Nothing much to say except for the repaint as Gold and black for this piece.

The above picture reminds me of the Knock-off black movie 1 (or 2!!) optimus prime.
Fortunately, this one is without the flames, otherwise the KO would easily be passed off as the Dark Guard Optimus prime in vehicle form.

This is using the Transformers Prime First Edition Mold of Optimus Prime.
The clear version...something like the crystal convoy. Always had a soft spot for Black and clear pieces, so this is a must get.

Had this piece for awhile already and threw away the box/packaging.

Just didn't like the smoke stacks. Mold is good. Transformation is not too complicated. easily understood.

Don't really like the Transformers Prime series...if not for clear and black and Starscream, i would never get this series of transformers. I predict the TFP series would end up as TFA (Transformers Animated)...if it really ends up like TFA, remember...You read it here first!

Transformers Prime Starscream

Transformers Prime Starscream

This is deluxe sized, by Hasbro.

Transformers Prime is a new animated TV series which i did not follow. But as a Starscream slut, i just have to buy this another one of his incarnations.

Build is rather flimsy and i've broken the plane tip. went back to Toys R Us for an exchange.

Bot mode is cool. but the wrist and shoulders arent really 360 degrees articulated.

Was too lazy to change it to the alternate plane mode so no pictures of the plane.

Missiles are made of rubber so customizers have to note when repainting this fella.

The tip of the plane which have to be rotated when transforming the toy is held to the body by a small plastic stud installed inside both plane tip and body.

and there is a spring stopper to hold the part in place whether in plane mode or bot mode. this adds more stress to the stud. ( I know this b'coz after i got the new exchange piece, i took out the screws and analysed what went wrong.)

If you twist the parts too hard while transforming, then likely the stud will break.

My recommendation is to loosen the screws abit then you attempt to transform.
